Add your document photo to the scanner, mark its four corners and select Scan document. The tool turns the angled page into a rectangular image. Check the preview, then download a JPG or combine several scans into one PDF.
Use your camera or choose a file
Open the document scanner. Use Choose photo to add a JPG, PNG or WebP, or drag one into the empty area. Open camera shows a live view after you give browser permission. Keep all four corners visible and select Take photo. The camera then closes; no audio is recorded.
If permission is denied or no camera is available, choose a photo instead. Use phone camera opens the device capture screen on supported phones and may behave as a file picker on desktop. Camera access depends on browser and operating-system permissions. See MDN's camera documentation and capture attribute guide.
HEIC is not supported; export it as JPG on your device first. The limits are 40 MB and 40 million pixels per file.
Correct perspective using four corners
- Move the handles to the top left, top right, bottom right and bottom left document corners, in that order.
- Optionally select Suggest corners. It provides a starting point for light paper on a dark background. Adjust it manually if needed.
- Use Select the whole photo to reset. You can also enter X/Y percentages under Set corner coordinates.
- Choose the appearance and rotation, then select Scan document.
Crossed corners prevent processing and must be corrected. Use Tab to focus a handle, arrow keys to move it, and Shift for larger steps. Perspective correction maps the selected quadrilateral to a rectangle. It does not recover blurry details or precisely measure the physical page's aspect ratio.
Choose an appearance
| Option | What it does | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Document · Black and white | Whitens the background based on local lighting and separates dark strokes | Text-heavy pages |
| Grayscale | Converts colors to shades of gray | Preserving shadows and subtle tones |
| Color | Corrects perspective while keeping colors | Important stamps, photos or colored notes |
Increasing Text contrast in document mode classifies more pixels as dark. If faint writing disappears, increase the value and scan again. Shadows and marks may also darken, so check the result. Changing a setting clears the previous preview; select Scan document again.
Combine pages into a PDF
If the preview looks right, select Add page to PDF. Choose another photo or capture the next page. Added pages stay in the list. Use the arrows to reorder them and × to remove a page.
Keep document proportions creates a PDF page matching each scan's proportions. A4 · Portrait fits each scan to A4 without stretching it. Select Create PDF, then Download PDF. Create the PDF again after changing the order or page size.
You can add up to 20 pages and 80 MB of scanned output. To limit memory use, source photos are resized to a maximum long edge of 2400 pixels. Corrected output is limited to a long edge of 2200 pixels and 4 million pixels in total.
Check before saving
Make sure no corners are cut off and that document numbers, dates, signatures and small text are readable. This tool does not perform OCR; PDF text will not become selectable or searchable. Keep your original photo. Reloading the page clears scans you have not downloaded.
For simple rectangular cropping and rotation, use the document photo editor. To make a PDF directly from already prepared photos, use Images to PDF.
